Lil Rel, a comedian/actor/writer, and native from the West side of Chicago, realized that he wanted to become a comedian at the tender age of eleven. He began his stand up career at the age of nineteen and began to make his mark as one of the most unique up and coming Comics in the industry.
In 2006, Lil Rel appeared on Bill Bellamy’s Who Got Jokes that seemed to begin a twenty-four month stretch where he appeared on HBO (Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy), NBC (Last Comic Standing), TVONE (Who Got Jokes & Baisden After Dark), BET (One Mic Stand), and SHOWTIME (Big Black Comedy Show). It was also during this time he got the great experience of performing in the NBC Diversity Showcase in Los Angeles and the Aspen Showcase in New York. These two opportunities helped Lil Rel continue to sharpen his comedic skills and broaden his comedic range.
Lil Rel launched his own company, The LIL REL Company in 2009 and is working on a deal for the creation of his own animated cartoon series. The project will be based on the many characters that Lil Rel has brought to life in his stand up performances. Lil Rel has continued to stay busy on projects and working as he launched an internet television talk show titled “Jive Turkey” and became the House emcee at Jokes & Notes Comedy Club located in Chicago.
Network: BET
