Showtime’s Big Black Comedy Show
Lil Rel joined the producers of Showtime’s “Big Black Comedy Show” to perform live in front of audiences in the South Side neighborhood of Chicago. With sold out audiences throughout the tapings, the Big Black Comedy Show was a huge success as a show and as a catalyst for Lil Rel’s career!
In 2006, TV One’s breakout comedy show Who’s Got Jokes was Lil Rel’s third television appearance and the launch of a four-year run of appearing on some of the nation’s top TV networks (including BET, NBC, Showtime, HBO, and Comedy Central). Check out his appearances on the show above!
During the winter of 2007, Lil Rel linked up with some of the nation’s funniest comedians and headed to Brooklyn, NY for the 2nd season of Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy. Hosted by Sean “P Diddy” Combs, himself, along with the world’s best entertainer Doug E. Fresh, this HBO special proved to be a hit with Lil Rel fans around the country.
Later in 2007, Lil Rel headed to NBC’s popular Last Comic Standing competition for his first mainstream competion. A few short years later, Lil Rel appeared in the 7th season of the competition comedy show. Proving to be a crossover success, Lil Rel finished as a semi-finalist and a fan favorite in millions of homes across America.
In 2008, Lil Rel headed to Michael Baisden’s “Baisden After Dark” show on TV-One to introduce more of his character comedy to the nation.
UNRELEASED FOOTAGE! In the summer of 2008, Lil Rel recorded a stand-up segment for the VERY funny comedy show “One Mic Stand,” hosted by Kevin Hart. For undisclosed reasons, the show was taken off air before Lil Rel’s episode was broadcasted. However, The Lil Rel Company has the video!!
